Advocacy, Mentorship, and Volunteerism
As an active advocate, volunteer, and community leader, I serve on the board of directors for The Minnesota Spinal Cord Injury Association and collaborate with United Spinal, GUSU2Cure, UFP, and more.
Peer Support
Through the MNSCIA and GUSU2Cure, I help facilitate a monthly peer group. We also hold adaptive demo days, fundraisers, and other peer networking opportunities.
Local Advocacy
A group of Minnesotans living with spinal cord injuries got together in 2015 with the wild idea of a state funded research bill. With perseverance and helpful partners, we passed a multimillion dollar bill that continues to fund spinal cord injury research today.
I was proud to testify at the senate hearing for this program and am excited that it is currently being replicated in other states.

National Advocacy
I have frequently travelled to Washington D.C. to represent Minnesotans with spinal cord injuries. It is vitally important that leaders understand the needs of all of their constituents.
